| The hunt with bow and arrow, the trance-like
ritual dances at the fire, the making of simple leather
clothes, and the gathering of wild berries and roots -
this traditional lifestyle of the San has very little
in common with the romanticised life of the „noble
wild“. Traditionally active as hunters and gatherers
the San can hardly make a living. The future of this unique
nation will be decided when one of its most critical problems
is resolved: how to maintain their identity and cultural
survival in modern age. |
