| Leni Riefenstahl, at 98, travels a long
way back, to "her" Nuba, the fulfillment of
her heart's desire. Since the last time she had been to
Sudan, 23 years have gone by - what has happened to her
friends back there? Germany's most important, but also
most controversial filmmaker and photographer on a search;
torn between the Reich and Africa, between the present
and the past. Memories recorded during a difficult journey
amid civil war. Riefenstahl even survived a helicopter
crash during the filming. |
