| Oumou Sy lives and works in Medina, the
poor people’s district of Dakar, but as a fashion
designer and artist she is internationally well-known.
She presents her show rooms and exhibitions in Paris and
New York; she is a celebrated star of the Documenta Art
Fair. In her African home country Senegal, the illiterate
Oumou Sy speaks her mind – also when it comes to
